The SEC has recently updated guidance that increases requirements up to the board level.

These new guidelines require companies to disclose:

1. The names of any board members who have cyber security expertise and the nature of their expertise

2. The board’s level of oversight of cyber security risk

3. How often the board considers and discusses cyber security with relevant experts

4. In what ways the board considers cyber security risks in relation to the company’s business strategy
